How To Classify Hotels From One To Another

Hotel is an establishment which provides accommodation to the guest instead on money. Usually hotel provides meal and other services also. Travelers or visitors book a room for short stay for accommodation at a stated fee depending on the facilities provides for lodging, meal and services. Some hotels offers lodging along with different cousins restaurants, conference room, swimming pool, club house etc.

The classification of hotels depends on some criteria, i.e. location, size, facilities offered, ownership etc.

Location: According to location hotels are classified as Business hotels in cities, Resorts in tourist places and Transit hotels. Generally business hotels are situated on the center of a city to get the advantage of market and transport as well as resorts are situated on tourist place (hill stations, sea beaches, forests) for travelers.

Size: According to size hotels are classified as Big hotels, Medium hotels and Small hotels.

Facilities offered: Hotels may be Luxury or Budget depends on the facilities offered by the hotel. Star ranking of a hotel also depends on the facilities provide by the hotel.

Ownership: According to the ownership hotel may be Individual, Chain or Franchise.
